What are the penalties for DUI manslaughter?

Under Section 316.193 (3), F.S., any person who while driving under the influence, causes or contributes to causing death of any human being or an unborn child commits the offense of DUI manslaughter.

• DUI Manslaughter: second degree felony, punishable by a maximum $10,000 fine and/or 15 years in prison, and a minimum 3 year driver’s license revocation.
• DUI Manslaughter/Leaving the Scene: Any driver who is convicted of DUI Manslaughter and who knew or should have known that an accident occurred, yet failed to give information and render aid is guilty of a first degree felony, punishable by a maximum $10,000 fine and/or 30 years in prison, and a minimum 3 year driver’s license revocation.
