A STRONG DEFENSE WITH RON HERMAN | ON THE BLUE LINE PODCAST INTERVIEW

I interview leaders from all walks of life highlighting strong and meaningful conversations that provide insight, guidance, and encouragement for the listener.

Wayne Mulder, Host and Founder, On The Blue Line Podcast

Ron Herman was a featured guest at a weekly interview show, On The Blue Line Podcast. As a popular Podcast for law enforcement, by active-duty law enforcement, the show is aimed at “making a difference in the lives of first responders.” Ron is honored to be invited to share his perspective.

The hour-long interview covered a range of topics about the criminal justice system and topics making headlines, such as police body cameras, and community policing reforms. Ron shared some war stories from working as an SVU Prosecutor and now, as a white collar defense attorney, fighting aggressive government investigations. Both sides can agree that transparency and collegiality in working up and defending the cases only helps everyone get their job done. The Podcast Host, Wayne Mulder, is a former white collar crime detective, and did a great job keeping the discussion interesting. For example, as the Host pointed out, some younger law enforcement officers may be intimidated being deposed by a seasoned defense attorney, who may want to consider that perspective too.

Ron also talked about some unique considerations that come into play when representing law enforcement accused of a crime. In addition to vigorously defending the case, a police officer client may be facing an internal affairs investigation and trying to save his job. The video interview also covered the heightened scrutiny that law enforcement faces today and what effect that may have on individual cases and trials.

As the Podcast seeks to help first responders “find success in what really matters, your life outside the badge,” Ron urged the listeners to get involved in their communities and local government. For Ron, he finds his service on various local Boards and Committees to be a meaningful way to connect with others. Click below for the interview and let us know what you think.
